Why polish concrete floors?

The major reason to polish concrete is because it is the MOST economical floor covering in today’s market. This include hardwood, parquet, vinyl tile, natural stone (marble, terrazzo, granite) and epoxy paint.

All of them cost many time more than polished concrete if we consider the length of time we maintain and renew them.

Some major retail stores replace vinyl tile every seven years. They (a major retailer) calculated and saved over 300 million dollars by using honed concrete.

After the concrete is poured and cured to establish the building’s integrity the floor need no further covering with wood, vinyl or epoxy. All it needs is a low cost honing or somewhat higher cost polishing.

The polished floor is one of the few types of finish that create the least dust due to the surface hardening during the honing process.

The finished floor’s longevity is outstanding because the polished concrete will out-last all of the above mentioned type of floors. It could last decades if not centuries.

Its maintenance is the lowest, all it requires is wet mop or an auto scrubber

Its impact resistance is the greatest and its repair ability is the easiest.
